The best town/village in Cilento area

What is the best town/village in the Cilento area for walking and scenery? We prefer smaller towns with a quaint walkable main street area.

Will you be renting a car? What else is on your itinerary, or what have you identified that you want to see? What time of year?

I chose Pisciotta and loved it, but there were some drawbacks to not having a rental car.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes, we will have a car. We will be there in June. How was Pisciotta? Does it have a downtown area good for walking and restaurants?

It's hard to call it a "downtown" as it is really just a village and only takes minutes to walk through (not that it is not lovely wandering those maze like streets).. You can walk to the train station (30-45 minutes) down a path from the town (lit at night). Also, you can walk to the hamlet of Marina di Pisciotta, which has an amazing restaurant called Angiolina.

There are a few good restaurants in Pisciotta proper as well and some nearby, and those can be reached by taxi if you do not wish to drive, or by transport vans that take tourists from the hotel to the restaurant.

Hotel Marulivo is TEH place to stay here, so if you choose the town the hotel can give you loads if info.

It is scenic but quiet. I would compare to Castellabate and Agropoli to see which you prefer. (We did not make it there.)
