We are planning a stay in Vico Equense during the first week of July with our 7-year old. Are there any wonderful beaches nearby?

Dear Medoro,

According to the tourist office, Vico Equense has several beaches (2 km of coastline) and some beaches have more sand or more rocks than others. You can walk down to the beach from the main part of town which should take around 5 minutes. Then when you want to head back up to Piazza Umberto/centro/downtown, you can catch a local city bus from Marina di Aequa. For the bus tickets, you can use an E1 or a UnicoNapoli bus ticket(both cost €1) which must be purchased from a tobacconist before boarding.

Some parts of the beach in Vico is a pay-per-person/chaise-lounge where you can pay to sit among other people on lounge chairs. Also, the area is know for its thermal baths and here's one facility which might be open when you arrive:

You might be able to see the town's Festival of Provolone del Monaco which usually happens the first half of July. The Provoloni del Monaco is a locally produced cheese which retains a title of "DOP," meaning that it's not produced outside Vico or its mini suburbs/frazioni.

Here's the site which the tourist office mentioned to me:
