On January 31, a party of 5 of us travelled on the much advertised Terravision bus service from Milan Bergamo and Verona airports to Val Gardena. We were booked on the 16.10 bus from Verona. The bus was 1 hour late in arriving. On the journey the driver stopped several times to smoke, lost his way calling in at Bolzano, lost his way leaving Bolzano and went up a narrow moutain road, finally having to admit defeat and make a 5 point turn on some waste ground, and eventually arriving in Selva two and a half hours late on a scheduled two hours forty minute journey!
Our hotel in Selva rang the Bolzano office several times with no reply, then telephoned the Rome office to ask about the return journey the following Saturday. We were assured that the return journey would run to time, and risked it. No one in Selve was sure where the Terravision bus started from- it had left from three different places in earlier weeks - and in spite of us going to where their website advised, the bus departed from another stop without us. Fortunately, thanks to a heroic drive by our hotel minibus driver, we caught and stopped our bus further down the valley and then had an incident free journey to Verona, thankfully.
And finally, some of the seats in the bus were not properly secured to the floor - I think the bus had passed its sell-by date!
The moral of the story is NEVER NEVER think of travelling on a Terra vision bus - they may be cheap
but your holiday could be ruined!
