Don't stress out - just enjoy.

We got married in Ravello but at Villa Eva so can't help you too much BUT we did use a fantastic wedding planner

Mario at Wagner Tours

www.wagnertours.it - he will make the whole wedding and week stress free -- at least look at his website

Good luck

I am using Mario Capuano from the website provided below. He always emails me back quickly and is always reassuring on every detail. He lists costs of items individually. The thing I find hard to believe is that I've paid him nothing. He wants me to pay him when I get there. My date is May 23, 2008. He grew up in Ravello and knows everyone there who is involved in the wedding-the florist, musicians, etc. It, so far, has all been very easy. Just tell him I sent you!! I am also a wedding photographer in Texas so he and I discuss weddings frequently. He seems almost overly honest in his dealings and says he trusts me to pay him when I get there. I also contacted several of his clients and they were all happy with his services and their experiences and even emailed me photos.

You can find him here:

http://www.wagnertours.it/

and the 'booking@wagner tours.it' address at the bottom of the page is the email address I normally use to contact him. I went through several wedding planners in Positano and the Amalfi Coast in general before finding him. He is much less expensive, is not an American owned company which I found to be the case with a couple of other ones, and he knows everyone well that you will be dealing with. He's very good. He even sent me photos of his dog Lucky sitting in his office chair. There is nothing pretentious or difficult about him. He's very friendly and helpful. I can't wait to see how it all turns out, but I can tell you I'm happy so far. Good luck!

Mario Capuano is the best wedding planner. I posted previously and we just got married May 23rd. It was everything promised and more. It was the dream wedding but in 3d. It's hard to imagine how wonderful it can be, but actually standing there and living the moment...nothing I imagined even compared to the actual day. We stayed at the Hotel Parsifal which was a 5* in a 3* description. It doesn't yet have a pool, but the service and the food, AND the view are beyond compare in my book. Antonio and his family are wonderful warm people and I will always stay with them when I return. Good luck on your wedding plans.

Brenda

Hello,

I was quoted €245 per head for dinner at Villa Cimbrone. I think that also included cocktails before dinner.

You also have to pay an extra €2000-3000 for hire to have your reception there.

I fell in love with Villa Cimbrone when I went to Ravello last year, but with 55 people coming, we couldn't afford those prices.

So we opted to used Mario too, and he has been brilliant, as all the other posts have said. We are no having our reception at Villa Eva in April 2009, which has just as stunning views as Cimbrone but at a fraction of the cost.

Good luck x

Hi Laura! I think you’ve chosen the perfect location for your wedding day….partly because it was my wedding location (in May) and partly because it is the absolute mst wonderful place for a wedding!

Mike and I got married at Cimbrone and we would absolutely completely recommend it to you! It really is a fairytale wedding venue –it’s like being in an Enid Blyton novel (oops, showing my age there).

My biggest tip would be to put yourself into the hands of a really good wedding planner. They’ll just completely take the hassle out of your wedding preparations and your wedding day. Then you can just worry about having fun! We thought about going directly to the hotel but decided it would just be better to have an independent planner who could liaise with the Villa for us.

We arranged everything for our big day through an on-site wedding planning agency, Ravello Events (www.ravelloevents.com). Mike and I are both really busy so just couldn’t spare the time to look at organising things ourselves and we literally left absolutely everything to the girls at Ravello Events. We had previously researched agencies through TA and other sites and Angela and Rosaria at Ravello Events had lots of really positive write-ups so we decided to give them a go. They really were fab and took all of the stress out organising things, arranging our legal stuff and even organising trips to take our guests on before the wedding.

We were married outside the town hall, with Rosaria from the agency as our translator. Both she, and the officiant were so sweet and made it such a significant service (something I hadn’t thought it would be). We had a string trio of musicians, which was the perfect musical accompaniment.

I had a stunning white lily bouquet created by our florist, Armando (booked via Ravello Events), my bridesmaids also had white lily arrangements and my flower girls had small petal baskets.

Our photographer Alfonso (also booked through the girls) took us for pictures around the lovely little streets in Ravello then we headed up to Villa Cimbrone for our celebrations. We had welcome aperitifs in the gardens with our guests, followed by an amazing dinner in the crypt, accompanied by a blues band.

We truly loved our wedding day and were so lucky to have found such professionals to plan everything for us. Angela and Rosaria were even on hand with tissues for the Best Man’s hay fever and safety pins for my mum’s dress emergency!

I would wholeheartedly recommend Ravello to you as a wedding location and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend you organise things through a wedding planner. A friend of mine married in Italy two years ago and had to book a planner at the last minute as she just wasn’t able to arrange everything alone, especially with the language barrier and all the red tape involved whereas my wedding was just so stress free and lots of fun.

The most important thing to remember is to relax and enjoy your big day, you one have one so you really should make the most out of it! Say hi and lots of hugs to Angela and Rosaria from Melanie and Mike, if you do choose Ravello Events.

Hope I’ve helped!

Mel x

We have just returned from our wedding in Ravello. We got married at the town hall - 53 guests - and held our reception at Villa Eva. It was so beautiful, the best day ever.

We used Mario at Wagner Tours and I would recommend him 1000 times over. He took all of the stress out of the process and it all went perfectly. He was great.

Laura,

I just got married in Ravello this July. We had a Catholic mass at the Duomo and a reception at Villa Cimbrone. My mother and I went May of 2007 to check all the venues out. There are many fantastic places to have receptions, Ravello is just so magical in every way. But by far, Villa Cimbrone blows everything out of the water. It is quite special to have your guests walk down the cobblestone streets to get there. You can not access the property it by car. (the walk is about 10 minutes) You walk past beautiful homes, charming gardens and lemon groves the whole way to the property. Then once you get to the main gate (it reminds me of when Dorothy went to the Emerald City in the Wizard of OZ), it is a grande beautiful old wooden door, the gardens are the first thing you see when you enter. They have this long wisteria covered path that leads you to the most amazing view you will see in your life on their Belevdere Terrace. It is an enormous panaramic view of the whole Gulf of Salerno. By the way a great place to take photos. I think if you have over 40 guests you can have your cocktail hour on the Belvedere terrace. I only had 30, so we were in the gardens (by the way at no extra cost and still has a fantastic view). Then we had our reception in The Crypt. It sounds morbid, but it actually was a place where they used to store the wine when it was a private residence. It is all stone with Moorish arches and columns throughout. The best part is....one of the walls is gone, so you have the sea view right there. If you go to their website www.villacimbrone.com or villacimbrone.it (i can't remember) you can see pictures. Obviously I am biased on this place, but my guests are still talking about it. P.S. the food is wonderful too.

Sorry....one more thing. I thought I could plan everything on my own because I did not want to pay to have it done. But I met Rosaria and Angela from Ravello Events and they are fantastic. Their fees are nominal compared to the peace of mind and efficiency they provide. My husband and I loved them so much we invited them to our wedding!
