Pick up a car in Arezzo instead of Florence

Hi,

We will be arriving Rome on Aug 18th and plan to stay in Tuscany for 3 nights and one night in Florence. So we will have 2 full days in Florence.

1. What do you think of arriving Rome and going straight to Arezzo by train - purchasing tickets when we arrive ?

2 Pick up a car at Arezzo station and drop it off there before we return to Florence ?

3. In Florence - since we have 2 days - is it worth purchasing the hop on and off bus pass ?

Thank you for all your suggestions

#1 - Yes, you can wait to purchase your tickets on arrival. Purchase tickets all the way to Arezzo at the Leonardo station, but you will change trains at Termini or Tiburtina.

#2 - Yes, that would work. Avis car across from Arezzo train station. Train later to Florence

#3 - I wouldn't know. I have never used. I always walk everywhere since everything is within a relatively short distance.
