Traveling by train from Florence to Italy

Am I right if I say that a first class train ticket between Florence and Italy cost 64 euro? We intend to visit Italy in June 2011. Would it be necessary to pre-book train tickets on-line or will it be OK to buy it at the train station when we arrive?

Dirkie, why did you post this on the Abano forum ? are you going to be based there ?

As for 1st class, I see no need for that as there is very little diference in the comfort of the modern Italian trains also there is no need book anything in advance as it only cramps your style on the day and limits you to the particular train you have designated. Just buy your tickets as you go along as you will find that all the cities are linked hourly all day and many more frequently than that. I expect it was a slip of the pen when you put Italy instead of Rome.

But the Abano thing puzzles me as it is nowhere near Florence.

Bob.
