As you are staying there, I would say a wander round the shops in Sevenoaks would be worthwhile.

You are more likely to find interesting, small and friendly independent shops that you are in a huge sprawling shopping mall such as Bluewater, which just seems to have the same names as any other big shopping centre.

Sevenoaks town centre does have a number of independent stores and some nice pubs! (I lived there for 25 years.)

This website page may help but be aware that many of the places listed are not in the town centre. Places with a TN13 postcode will be there or very near.

There are of course the hypermarkets on the outskirts of Sevenoaks eg Tesco at Riverhead and Sainsbury's on the Otford Road.

If it is mall shopping you prefer, head for Bluewater.

Maidstone also has some nice shops in the town centre but parking can be very difficult.

belguim2970.... It rather depends on what you are shopping for. Sevenoaks has a very pretty high street with a mixture of good quality brand name shops, plus some independant shops... but is small and an afternoon would easily cover it. Folkestone has very few independant retailers but a wider variety of the usual high street chain stores. In my opinon Canterbury is much better than either Sevenoaks or Folkestone, as it has a much wider variety of shops and is just a lovely town. Parking though can be a chore, although there are several car parks.

Bluewater has the advantage of being huge, and so has more variety. It is all covered, and has masive car parks. Although big, Bluewater has now been dwarfed by the Westfield Shopping Centre at Stratford. The high speed rail connects to it from both Ashford and Ebbsfleet, although Ebbsfleet has much better parking.
