Any hotels with early morning check in?

Our long haul flight arrives in at 5.10am and neither of us are safe to undertake a 4 hour drive home.

Does any one know of a hotel that will allow very early morning check in.

Many thanks

Most hotels will provide what is called a "DayRoom". Usually the going rate (IME) is about half the normal rate. The downside is that for many you cannot book it in advance on the web you need to phoen a day or two in adavance. However, coming into Gatwick (I presume) I would suggest you choose one thats connected to or very near to the airport which doesn't give you many to phone and check their requirements for day rooms. Just ask them how to book one and what the rate is.

Hilton, Sofitel, possibly Premier Inn are the ones that spring to mind. There is also a Yotel which you can book any arbitrary time, that's in the airport , check their website out. AIUI you just book a specific time slot, say 6am-11am or whatever you want and its so much for the first so many hours and then so much an hour after that.

I know that in most hotels the check-in doesn't begin until the afternoon. I can recommend you to request the early check-in when you will call to the hotel to make a reservation. Tell them that you arrive early in the morning and need somewhere to stay. You can also go somewhere and spend these 4 hours in some cafe if it’s open, at the airport or near it you can find something available. But it won’t be a good idea. Try to find the hotel that suits you in the Internet and just tell them about your circumstances.

Many thanks for your replies.

I have looked at the Yotel but it is quite expensive - normally the hotels we have booked in the past have let us check in early, but as this flight gets in at the crack of dawn I think we might have a problem.

I did ring the Premier Inn, Gatwick and explained the situation, they suggested that I book 2 nights which seems extravagant but at £49.00 per night it is still cheaper than the Yotel and to us probably worth it. Better than falling asleep at the wheel.

We can't be the only ones who resemble the living dead when we get of the plane after a long haul night flight, we definitely should not be behind the wheel of a car.

Thanks again for your help.
