Any Hotels in Orford Warrington? |
|
I am planning my trip to Warrington in April coming, I would like to be in the Town of "Orford" I believe it is, I would like all information that I can possibly get as to the area and if there are any hotels, and when arriving in Manchester is there a service which will transport me to my final destination? Also If anyone has taken any pictures of the area and the people, I would love to see please share them with me. Also The weather, what is the weather like during that time of year, wouldn't want to get caught without the proper clothing. Please e-mail with any and all information that could possibly help Thanks so very much...."Zeniluvs5@aol.com" Inez Report as inappropriate |

Orford is a district of Warrington and is a couple of miles north west of Warrington town centre. Today it is mainly a residential neighbourhood. Orford Park is maintained as a public park by Warrington Borough Council. The original Orford Hall may date back to the 13th century but there is no longer a hall as the last Orford Hall was demolished in the 1930s. There are no hotels listed in the Orford area. Any hotel in Warrington will be reasonable close but I do not know the bus service well enough to advise on one that will give you easy travel to and from Orford. For info on local buses see www.warringtonboroughtransport.co.uk From Manchester airport, you can get a bus to Warrington. There is only 1 bus a day 7.05pm from the airport to Warrington and only 9.15 am from Warrington to the airport. A better bet is the train. While there are no direct trains, you can get a train from the airport into Manchester Piccadilly and then another to Warrington. They run twice an hour. Personally, I would think about renting a car for this visit. Weather in April is very variable. Be prepared for frequent, heavy showers and some cold winds but it also might be warm and sunny on odd days. I live about 20 mioes away from Warrington. If you have any more questions please post and I will try to answer them. Report as inappropriate

I wish I had seen this sooner, as it's probably too late now. I was brought up in Orford. Its a large residential area about 1.5 to 3 miles from the town centre. Most of it is council property. There are some nice areas and some grotty ones. It's fairly safe, although petty theft is fife if you leave valuables on show. There is a premiertravelinn on winwick road which is just a few yards from the northern side of orford. These are good value, clean hotels witha nice restaurant/pub nextdoor. I'm sure there's a direct train form the airport, but if not, as the other reply stated, you can get to the centre of manchester, then a train the warrington central station, then a bus from just outside to orford. If you have already been, how did you find my home town? Report as inappropriate

Hope you enjoyed Warrington. where there any bits you especially liked? My friend from Seatlle is coming over later in the year and looking from a tourists point of view I just wondered if there where anything really good you saw? I know a few good places to eat (Anmol in Penketh) & hotels plus a lovely salon in bold street which i use & intend to take her there to be pampered english style. Report as inappropriate
