Seaton or Sidmouth

Does anybody know which is the best place to visit between these places. Which is the flattest and nearest town centre from the sea front promenade in either of these places, as we have a choice to visit either resort. An early reply would be appreciated as we are going very soon - thanks

Sidmouth is bigger with a better choice of shops, restaurants etc. Neither are flat, both town centres are next to the sea but I would say that Sidmouth has a better seafront with a long flat paved seafront for easy walking.

Yes it is a rolling coastline with some steep hills behind but you would find more to do on the flat or gentle rise at Sidmouth I would think.

100% Sidmouth! There are nice shops, be sure to visit Fields Dept store cafe, it's lovely, service like it used to be. Nearby Beer is well worth a look at, although it has a steep road down to the beach, the town is flat. You could visit Seaton easily and have a ride on the tramway.

Sidmouth any time. Although Seaton is working very hard to get on the road to improvement, it still has a long way to go. Sidmouth on the other hand has always stayed up to date and is lovely. Most of the area immediately (up to about 300/400 meters) behind sea front pretty flat.

Beautiful Connaught Gardens are on a cliff top, but if you take your time that is doable for most too, and the reward (views, gardens, nice tea room) make it all the more worth while.

Enjoy!
