Norway in a nutshell-- via Voss or Myrdal?

Hi, we would like to do the Norway in a nutshell one day round trip from Bergen? Shall we do it via Voss or Myrdal? We are travelling in late December so I suppose it will get dark pretty early?

Many thanks!!

Via Voss is the best, it takes you through the hairpin road with nice views down to Gudvangen by bus. But, this road might be closed in winter and than it really does not matter which direction.

The highlights are the Flåm Railway and the boat from Flåm to Gudvangen. Most important to get these within the short daylight hours.

Klima & Co is the bus going down the Stalheim hairpin road during the winter season? I forgot how this bus works again and could not find the schedule right now.

I mentioned above that the road may be closed in winter - I do seem to remember that it is. Not cleared during the winter season and so closed after the first snow.

Thank you so much for your replies. One more question: We arrive in Oslo at 9am on 29dec. Do you think we have sufficient time to get to oslo train station for the 10:37am train to Bergen?

Thanks so much!!!

With a bit of luck with luggage collection and immigration, you should be ok as long as you take the airport express train to Oslo Central Station and change trains there. On the other hand, it is winter in Norway and flights could be delayed due to bad weather. If you have a full fare ticket you can change for the next train if necessary.

thanks Klimaflyktning!

It's just that getting a miniprice ticket is so much cheaper and we really prefer to take the morning train!

A taxi would take longer and cost a LOT more, not recommended. The airport train at 10:06 is your last chance of catching the 10:37 train from Oslo S.
