Trams

We will be arriving in Oslo on a Tuesday apx. noon and taking the Train to Oslo S after we collect bags and clear immigration. We will be staying at the Park Inn Øvre Slottsgate 2. It appears that the #12 Tram runs right past this hotel. My questions are... Does this tram have a stop that is actually close to the hotel?(hotel reviews seem to suggest this)

Guesstimating the time we will get into Oslo S I suspect that we will be getting on the Tram about 14:00 give or take 30 minutes. What will it be like trying to take two suitcases onto the Tram at that time of day? Will it be so crowded that this is not feasible?

Also, am I correct in understanding that my train ticket gives 150 minutes of transit service after it is time stamped at the airport station. Is there a better transportation option from Oslo S than what I am asking?

Regards

There are several trams and buses on that route, it's only 2 stops. Tram 12 to Christiana torv or bus 31 to Wessels plass are two possibilities. Followed by a 2 min walk to hotel. Stops are on the opposite side of the road when you use main exit from station (keep going in same direction as trains). If you have a smart phone try the RuterReise app or http://ruter.no/en/. Google maps also shows the bus and tram stops. Yes the ticket is valid for 2 1/2 hrs after validating (electronic time stamping) at the little machines on your way to the platform. After initial validating you can put them in your pocket and forget them. Buy the tickets at the Narvesen shop at Gardermoen in the landside hall after customs - turn right and continue on to the station. Shouldn't be any problem with luggage at that time. The bus might be a tad easier with luggage as it's lower and there is more room.

You can see the hotel here:

The tram line is in the street close to the entrance (stop as described by doyll).
