Wide question, can you please help us narrow it down bit to make it easier to provide advise? For example can you tell us why you would like to visit Norway and what you would like to experience during your stay? How long do you plan on staying? Will you rent a car or rely on public transport? At what time of the year?

Well, generally this being our first trip to the region, we are open to anything! We will be there June- July. Family with two early twenties and fifties parents. We are happy to drive in the outskirts but probably public transport in the cities.
Interests - natural environments, landscapes, arts and culture. Basically an over view of the country for possible future visits again. Preference is for things unique to the region or country.
Not the best time to see the northern lights, is it?
1. There are no Northern Lights in the summer. In North Norway we have the midnight sun and the rest of the country has close to 24 hours daylight also.
2. If you have close to 14 days or more allocated to Norway, you could split your stay between the Western Fjords and the Lofoten Islands.
3. Renting a car for Lofoten Islands is recommended. You could get around in the Western Fjords just using public transport, however a rental car will give you more options and access to more nature and scenery. Check out www.fjordtours.com all tours are with public transport, you can tailor your own version of the Nushell tours.
