So the shuttle service takes you from airport to airport? or does it pick you up at your hotel? Which do you prefer? Is one faster? I suppose if you have a wild driver it can be the longest 2 hours of your life....:) thanks very much for your kind response!

We have used the Salzburger Meitwagen twice. It is convenient with pick up at the hotel or airport and transfer back.

You can book in advance.

do they spend an hour going around to all the hotels to get everyone before heading off? or was it pretty expedient?

We made one stop each trip. The longest wait we had was at MUC waiting for others to clear customs and get in the van - 20 minutes or so.

When I used the service, the driver was very safe and the ride was very comfortable. When you make your booking, let them know what time you need to be at the airport so they can plan your pick-up time accordingly.

I think it surely beats having to go from Salzburg train station to Munich OST, and then transferring to the airport with luggage.

The train ride from Salzburg to Munich's main station is about two hours. When you get to Munich's main station (end of the line), you get off the train and go down the stairs (or elevator) to the S-Bahn (regional train)and take either the S-8 or S-1 line to the airport. That takes about 45 minutes. The S-8 line is easier because the S-1 line splits and you need to watch which section of the train you are in. The S-8 goes straight to the airport.

sammyfloyd thank you very much because you recommended the munich salzburg transport at munich airport i booked it today 4/23/2009 for my trip to salzburg in september. they will take me from munich airport to my hotel in salzburg and upon leaving salzburg they will pick me up at my hotel and return me to the munich airport. for me this is a thousand times better than taking the train with heavy luggage to lift and then a taxi to my hotel. you have been a lifesavor.

Hi, as I was booking the shuttle, they explained to me that you can catch the shuttle at regular times from the salzburg airport or for the same price have them pick you up at your hotel and go directly to munich airport (perhaps stopping for another rider at a nearby hotel) this is more time efficient...as 2 hours is enough time to wait in Munich! Again, thanks for this great tip!
