Is there transportation to the other side of the Danube? I'd love to get a picture of Durstein from there. Thanks.

The ferry is just a relatively small boat that carries a few people and bikes.

The boat propelled by outboard motors, takes just a few minutes to cross the river.

If a boat is not at the Dürnstein side , you will find a bell to ring at the dock there to call the boat from the other side.

The ferry dock is not by the ship station but rather at a small dock just for it about 200 meters downstream.

Fine photo possibilities as you cross the river and after getting to the far side ( village of Rossatzbach ) walk a few meters upstream

passing the playground and you have excelent views to the Dürnstein Village directly to the Church with its blue steeple and castle ruins.

You find good photo chances along the Dürnstein promenade too.

The Malerwinkel house by the river promenade one of the most phot grahed and painted places of the Wachau.

The Malerwinkel has 2 apartments available for rent with great Danube views and a great small terrace by the roof for overall
