Train help needed |
|
We (senior couple) are trying to put together the transportation part of our upcoming fourteen-day trip to Austria and Germany and are having difficulty. Could anyone tell us what the most economical bookings would be on: Linz to Bad Gastein Bad Gastein to Salzburg Salzbury to Oberstaufen, Germany Oberstaufen to Munich We think point-to-point ticket purchases look better than either a Eurail pass or a Germany-Austria pass, but can't figure out senior and/or two/one tickets that might be available. Also, for the best prices, when should we purchase tickets -- before we leave or after we arrive? Thank you for any help you may be able to give us. |

The links you need: >but can't figure out senior and/or two/one tickets that might be available. There are no senior discounts for single tickets. There are however senior discounts on the discount cards that make the tickets scheaper - VorteilsCard of the OeBB (Austria) and BahnCard 25 and 50 of the DB (Germany). > Also, for the best prices, when should we purchase tickets -- before we leave or after we arrive? As long as you buy the tickets from the national railway organisations and not from a reseller like RailEurope, it simply doesn´t matter. Like it doesn´t matter when you buy a ticket for the NY subway. | ||||||
