Traveling from the dock in Monte Carlo to Nice

My husband and I will be docking in Monte Carlo on a Sunday. I have been told the port is Quai Ees Estats-Uni Port de Monaco. We want to travel by train to Nice..specifically to the finish line of the Ironman Nice. Does anyone know how far it is from the ship to the train, what train we take, where we get off and then how far it is to the finish line?

If you look at Monaco on Google maps, you'll be able to see where the cruise ship jetty is (qua Rainier III) in relation to the main station entrance (marked with a blue train icon). There's an entrance to the station at port level at the intersection of rue Grimalid, ave d'Ostende and blvd Albert 1er. It'll take you 10 to 15 minutes to walk there. Trains are regular and all the ones that go in the direction of Nice stop at Nice.

If you look at Nice on Google maps, you'll see where the central station is in relation to the sea. Get out at the Centre Ville stop, recognizable as a big station, rather than the smaller suburban one Nice Riquier. Walk a few hundred yards to the main street, avenue Jean Medecin, take the tram (also makred on the map) 3 stops to Opera/Vieille Ville. Turn back in the direction the tram came from and walk along the side of the gardens until you reach the sea. At this point is where the finish line of Ironman has been the last couple of times we went. They usually put the bike park on Quai des Etats Unis, which you can reach by walking directly towards the sea when you get off the tram.

The train takes around 20 minutes and costs around 4 euros single per person. A cab would be around 80 euros.
