Northern lights within walking distance of city centre

While I would love to be able to go out on an aurora tour every night I'm in Reykjavik, it's not going to be feasible so my question is - If i wake up at 1am and the sky is clear, where is the best place to walk to in the city (as exact as possible please!) to get the widest view of the sky without obstruction?

thanks!

Grótta in Seltjarnarnes would be ideal, but it's quite a long walk from the city center - around 5 km one way: ja.is/kort/…B0ar

The other logical option is to head towards the coast, say somewhere along the Sæbraut street: en.ja.is/kort/…aerial this link shows the location of the Sólfar (Sun voyage) sculpture where you have a nice view out on the ocean.
