Florist in Reykjavik

Searching far/wide online for florists in Reykjavik yielded only "virtual" that is,"online" ordering only.Where can I find a Reykjavik florist we can actually walk into and choose what we want? Thanks in advance.

Searching under "florist" won't help you much. You need to search under "blómabúð" ("flower shop") or similar.

Here are a few links - pretty well everything is in Icelandic so maybe you want to let me know where you will be staying and I'll suggest the nearest stores. Or, in both Kringlan and Smáralind malls are flower stalls.

The largest florists are Blómaval http://www.blomaval.is/ and Garðheimar http://www.gardheimar.is/

Two of those links didn't work very well :

Try Googling "blómabúð" ("blomabud" will also work but gives a reduced selection)

toronto55, there are quite a few florists in Reykjavik.

As you want one you can walk into, can you help us out by telling us where you are (or will be), and if you are driving or walking?

There is an excellent florist shop that I have used many times, about a block from Hotel Saga, but if perhaps you are at Hotel Nordica and walking, I'm sure someone knows something closer.

I don't doubt that a reader here can recommend a good, walk-in florist shop, but how do we start the search for a nearby location, if we don't know where you are?

Thanks for the responses. We'll be staying in the Hilton Nordica Sudurlandsbraut. Our intention is to buy flowers for our room and while I suppose we could order online, we would prefer to choose our flowers "live".

About 400 metres from your hotel is Blómastofa Friðfinns http://blomabud.is/index.php

Walk out of the front entrance of the Hilton, turn to the right, cross the street Hallarmúli and walk in front of the shops and offices. You'll see a set of traffic lights to your left on the main road Suðurlandsbraut at the junction with Reykjavegur, and the florist is then on your right.

Here's a link to a map http://ja.is/simaskra?q=blómastofa&order=magic&map=130357#row130357 the Hilton is on Suðurlandsbraut, between Lágmúli and Hallarmúli.

More problems with posting links; you'll need to copy and paste the whole thing :
