We are heading to Iceland for 3 nights from next tuesday.

We arrive in the early afternoon and are staying in the Nordica hilton.

I Think we are going to wander about reykjavik looking at the shops and museums.

what can we do on tuesday night. I gather from reading here that everything happens on Fridays and Saturdays.

Where would you suggest we eat or drink on our first night.

Is the Hilton close enough to the center of reykjavik? I realise its not in the center but can we walk it easily?

Thanks

Hi Gary,

Just back (two weeks) from a.o. Hilton.

It's about 12-15 mins walk to the east end of the restaurant/shopping area. And whilst the bars are very full on Fri and Sat we found them, and restaurants, still lively enough during weekday nights too.

Just start walking the main shopping street, don't forget to look left and right in the smaller streets, and you'll find a suitable restaurant soon!

All the best,

<Erik> & [Sandya]

Hi Guys

Thanks for the reply. I am glad to hear there is life in Reykjavik during the week- lol!

Fifteen minutes is not a long walk.

It sounds like you had a good time. I have to say I am really excited to be seeing Iceland.

Cheers

Gary
