I'm not sure which station it is that you're supposed to get off, it really depends on where you go. But this link could be useful:

www.sj.se/sj/jsp/polopoly.jsp?d=10&l=en

The train fares will be free for your children depending on how young they are.

Hi!

Well, lappland is 700Km north of stockholm and it takes 7.5 hours by train, 100£ one way first class.

By plane about 100£ per person buisnessclass/return.

Perhaps you should stay in stockholm?

Or exactly why do you want to go to lappland?

Ther's plenty to do in stockholm for kids.

I assume you're thinking of visiting the ice hotel...it may not be built yet by that time. Make sure to check first. We were there in January and it wasn't finished.

Dog Sledding, Ice Fishing, Snowmobiling, Reindeer Herding, Kicksledding, and cross-country skiing are about what you do up there in the winter, besides be in the dark.

There is an overnight train to Kiruna that you can take from Stockholm for about half the cost of a flight, though the flight is faster obviously. SAS and FlyNordic have daily flights.
