Hi All,

I'm just wondering if any of you can please advise me of the best way to get to Malardrottningen Hotel from Stockholm aiport?

The hotel's website only mentioned that it's in the old town and bus number 3 or 53 stops nearby and that's it, it has no direction whatsoever.

So i'm just wondering if it's easier to get on the bus from the aiport and which number? or by train from airport to the nearest station and what's the name of the station?

One last thing, I'm assuming tickets for both bus and train are pretty easy to purchase?

As for the train, is it just one way to stockholm old town? or does the ticketing work like Strippenkart in Germany?

Thanks in advanced!!!!!

cheers

Malardrottningen I don't specifically, but it's ship on Riddarholmen, the small island joining the old town. Riddarholmen is right across the bridge from the train station, about 400 meters. Take the airport train and walk or take a taxi to your hotel. It's a nice walk if you don't have any heavy luggage, go to Vasabron (Vasa bridge).

ENjoy! This is something special in a wonderful city!

It is a ship!

Ita really not far from Central station and if your packing light you can walk. 800-1000 meters.

No difference if you come by train or bus you end up in almost the same spot. There is howewer quite a difference in price. I have never used Arlanda Express so I dont know about the ticket system.

Howewer exit Central station onto Vasagatan and head south. Take Vasabron over to Old Town (first walkable bridge, It passes a building halfway).

Then take right on Myntgatan and you will see the Riddarholmsbron in front of you go over it and to the waterfront and you see the ship on your left.

You could also take the T-bana one stop to "Gamla Stan". Take the exit westwards signposted "Riddarholmen" and you will see the ship in front of you.

Hi All,

Thanks for your advise. I think I will take the bus from the airport.

By the way, I have another question in regards to the normal ticketing system of public transport

I went to the website, and it's not too clear to me of how it works. The unit and the pre paid unit, etc etc.

Can anyone please explain to me in the the lamest term of how the ticketing works? I will be there just for the weekend (satday & sunday) and just wondering which tickets should I be buying?

Hi again

If you are planning for museums the Stockholmcard is probably a good and easy solution.

Free entrance to most museums, sightseeing boats, transportation and much more!
