i've been trying to post all day but the site has been down. How amazing that our children are in the same Halls!! Wow!
Well, I must say I am hugely impressed by your parenting, going over to Copenhagen with your daughter! How did you persuade her to allow you to go? My son is very keen on his independence and dislikes 'fuss' so I have to back off as much as possible. However the fact that you have seen the accommodation etc through parental eyes is definitely reassuring for me. Thanks for that, it was good to hear.
Yes, he is the one from De Montfort. What a small world and how wonderful the Internet is!!
Henry so far seems to be having a great time with the social events etc, enjoying meeting students from other countries, and he is hugely impressed by the Business School, the metro and the buses. He intends to get a bike from the police auction (he is a very keen cyclist) as the cycle lanes seem so good.
The bedding was delivered the first evening, after I had rung him, so I spent a night worrying needlessly....which is pretty typical.
A further coincidence; I was at Manchester University myself, as was my husband (well UMIST actually).
Am just packing up stuff for my daughter (17) who is off to the Leeds Festival early tomorrow. So we'll be childless for the Bank Holiday!
If I hear anything else that you might like to hear I'll post here, perhaps you could do the same?
No such resource was available to my parents when I spent a year abroad in the 80s. Mind you, they did not seem overly concerned!
