A few questions....

Hi there, we're going to Elounda for the first time in early September, can anyone answer a few questions?

Are there any/ many bars showing football, England have two games whilst we're away, i'd assume they will be on Itv and Sky.

What sort of prices are we looking at for beer, cocktails (for the wife of course!) eating out etc?

Are there many boat trips from Elounda? And if so what price roughly?

Thanks in anticipation.

Babel is one of the best bars to watch the football and the service is very good ..all the restaurants are good .starter main course and drinks is around 33 euros .. Olondi restaurant is one of our faves and anemomolos is very well priced not far form the beach

Hi there

With regards to prices for food, I would suggest that you try eating as the local do, its only the tourists that eat a starter main course and pud..... locals eat meze so that's 4-5 small plates of food that you share, each plate is around 3 - 6 euros (fish is usually a little bit more expensive) all Greek restaurants have lists of cold and warm appetisers on the menu so just choose from those - many of the more traditional places only serve meze and these will give you a pad with a list of dishes you then just tick off what you what - and most of these tavernas will also give you a free pud too..:-) This way of eating gives you the chance of trying lots of different foods and with wine for the two of us we usually spend around 25 euros..

Have a great holiday

Hi Hi - just wanted to add the Hiona Bar is doing 'open mike' nights on Mondays with Jpon Boy Walton and Boo the dog...they have BBQ with free house cocktail sometimes on these nights - worth checking there or at Eleman's Bar (same owner).

Most of the bars here do lovely cocktails, made fresh to order: we had friends who swore that the best Mojito ever is by Dimitris at Friends! I like Marios (and it's only across the road from the shop ha ha)

Have a wonderful time in Elounda,

Cyprianna, near to the beach, offer a great meza, 20 euros for 2 people and you can choose 10 items from an extensive list, we had this on our first night and it was lovely, followed by complimentary fruit and the dreaded raki!!
