Oops Meant Georgia Apartments - we have booked last minute deal for next week but apartments not in brochure. We have use of the pool at the Elounda Princess. We have not been to Crete before but having read all the reviews on Elounda are very much looking forward to it.

Just on the road into town about 7 minutes from the square. You will pass lots of restaurants and nice bars on the way in. Check out the Avli restaurant on the way to Plaka and Mams on the brow of the hill!!. The princess has a rooftop pool i'm sure. You will love Elounda

Now returned form Elounda - what a wonderful place - so relaxing and everyone we met was so friendly. Went to restaurant called La Strada in nr by Ag Nik as was recomended. Lovely food at very good rates. All the meals we had in Elounda were good and all the places were welcoming.

Yes - although we had left before getting your reply the Alvi was recomended by a local book shop owner we met too!! We also met an english couple who had moved to Elounda after visiting for 26 yrs!

We went to the bookshop in Elounda too. Great idea for tourists and those that live there.

We went to Plaka twice in the evenings too. There's a lovely bar in the square called something like the Pine Tree and the second time we walked past the first lot of tavernas to the other end of the village and found a lovely taverna with a sort or underwater theme - can't remember the name though. There is an old diving outfit on one of the walls and a couple of fish tanks!

It was friendly and very good value
