We have been staying at the Sheraton Algarve for many years and enjoy eating out at the local restaurants across the road and taking a short taxi ride or walking to Olhos d'Agua to eat there. Thinking of trying Vila Vita Parc this year and wondering if we can walk to any nearby restaurants and how far away Porches is. Is the resort quite isolated?
Vila Vita park is not actually in Porches. It's about a mile west of Armação de Pera, in an area called Alporchinos. It's behind a big wall! The nearest beach is pretty close and there is a very big beach at Armação de Pera.
Armaçã de Pera is a fairly easy walk, a bit uphill on the way back. There are plenty of places to go there. There is also a nice restaurant on the main road going down that friends took me to in September but I forget the name of it.
The actual village of Porches is nearly three miles down the road. The area of Vila Vita Park is described as being in Porches as it is inside the parish boundary.
