That's okay too, regularly worked late night office shifts at Coolsingel opposite the Triangle and the Driehoek area was not too shabby at night. far better than e.g. West-Kruiskade/ChinaandCaribtown.

All the best,

6. Re: NEED advice about Rotterdam! - 4 days stay.

Rotterdam is a very safe city. I've been living in this area all my life and happily never experienced something bad. I never feel unsafe, also at night. So don't be afraid to walk around at night in the city. The city has even become more safe during the last 10 years and a lot of less good neighbourhoods have been significantly improved.

5. Old buildings:

Hotel New York (on the Wilhelminapier)

City Hall

Sint Laurenskerk (church in the city center that survived the bombing during WW2)

Het Witte Huis

Entrepotgebouw

Veerhaven

Westelijk Handelsterrein

Also other areas like Rotterdam-West harbour a lot of old houses (like the Heemraadssingel and Westersingel)

6. What to do:

See Cecile's list. The Rotterdam Steam Ship might be worth a visit as well. The first weekend of September there are the World Harbour Days with a lot of festivities near the river.

Indeed, always a nice festivity, especially when the weather is good like during the last two years. Sadly enough September will be a bit too early to visit the Markthal, which will open on October 1rst.

About the weather: it might still be sunny and quite warm, but if you have bad luck it might also already have become quite rainy, but it won't be very cold yet.

Also a recent must-visit place that just opened a few weeks ago:

Fenix Food Factory

Wonderful view from Katendrecht on the Wilhelminapier and a great place to have lunch with local products! Also houses a brewery besides the other food stores!

And when you have some spare time and it's exceptionally good weather Hoek van Holland beach might also be an option.

9. Re: NEED advice about Rotterdam! - 4 days stay.

Thank you Jasper!

What is the middle temperature degree in C is it in September?

We would like to try some traditional food (but we are on middle class budget of 25-30 Euro per day) and have some relaxing evening with wine somewhere nice, where you can seat and enjoy rotation of people around you .... We like to be in the middle of everything and observe life :) So what are your suggestions?
