Hi there,

Lots. But what is interesting depends on your taste, e.g. water views and architecture vs. museums. See

for a first intro, come back with more questions if needed after reading this.

Thanks Erik...one day does not give much time. My family ( Bosscharts) came from Schiedam in the 1800s so I think the best we can do is a short boat ride, tram ride (hop on hop off) and a bus trip to Schiedam, then train back to Amsterdam in the evening. Cheers., Chris.

The Spido harbor tour will also show you a bit of Schiedam from a distance.

Other than that I love:

- the 45 degree tilted cubic houses (see post #4), one is open as a museum for only €2.50, it's fun to see how they manage to furnish the weird spaces

- the water taxi from Leuvehaven (or from the Spido starting point) to Hotel New York

- "Tompouce" pastry or coffee / snacks at Hotel New York industrial but cozy grand cafe

- Fotomuseum very close to Hotel New York

- walking back via Erasmus bridge, great views

- Witte de Withstraat full of funky shops and cafes and restaurants

There are trains back to Amsterdam until late, even night trains once an hour the entire night, so you could enjoy one of the many good restaurants in Rotterdam.

Have fun!

Cecilia
