Amsterdam to Efteling Park by Public Transport

Hi,

Just a few questions to clarify the above.

Is it better to go to Den Bosch or to Tilburg ?

Is there a bus to the Park from Den Bosch to Efteling provided by the park or we have to use the public bus to go to our hotel in Kaatsheuvel, Hotel De Kroon?

Do we qualify for the reduced fare as a family of four for the 8.50/2.50 euros fare for the train?

Should I reserve seats as we will be traveling on Friday afternoon and are bags a problem?

Finally is there a Roman Catholic church in Kaatsheuvel?

Thanks for your help. All replies greatly appreciated.

George

".. is there a Roman Catholic church in Kaatsheuvel?"

Just a bit. According to wikipedia more than half the population is Catholic down there.

In Kaatsheuvel itself, St John the Baptist church: http://goo.gl/Ji7q4U

10min walk from your hotel, according to Google maps http://goo.gl/maps/KFFqv

And for the other questions:

1] Is it better to go to Den Bosch or to Tilburg ?

See www.9292.nl/en for the travel times, that would determine in your case.

2] Is there a bus to the Park from Den Bosch to Efteling provided by the park or we have to use the public bus to go to our hotel in Kaatsheuvel, Hotel De Kroon?

Public bus, sorry.

3] Do we qualify for the reduced fare as a family of four for the 8.50/2.50 euros fare for the train?

Not for train for adults. For kids upto and including 11 the 2.50 railrunner fare applies.

4] Should I reserve seats as we will be traveling on Friday afternoon and are bags a problem?

It's not possible to reserve seats on almost all Dutch domestic trains. And bags should not be too much of a problem.

All the best,

1] Is it better to go to Den Bosch or to Tilburg ?

Better to Den Bosch, as it is cheaper and to get to TIlburg, you'd need to get do Den Bosch first anyway. Note that the official name of Den Bosch is 's-Hertogenbosch.

2. Is there a bus to the Park from Den Bosch to Efteling provided by the park or we have to use the public bus to go to our hotel in Kaatsheuvel, Hotel De Kroon?

It's a public bus, but (at least on weekends and vacation periods) one that runs direclty to the park without stopping at other stops.

5. Finally is there a Roman Catholic church in Kaatsheuvel?

There are two. Here are the prayer times: http://parochiewillibrord.nl/agenda/ 'Zo' means Sunday.
