Public Transport: (all from AMS CS)

Bus (164), tram (2), as well as the metro (50) are approximately a five to ten-minute walk away.

The busstop is in front of the hotel

Metro stop is Henk Sneevlietweg

Tram stop is Aletta Jacobslaan

The poster above is on drugs as both the 50 and 164 go nowhere near Centraal Station. The 2 tram is a good choice though.

I hope you got a good deal on your hotel as it's way out (6 Km) on the edge of Amsterdam. It's around the 21st stop on the #2. Figure a little more than a 30 minute ride from CS.

If the hotel is Hotel Artemis , John M. Keynes Plein 2, 1066 EP Amsterdam, it is indeed way out of town.

Situated btwn West Ring Rd and Schiphol Airport. So if landing at the the airport , there is little point in taking a train to Central Station.

Perhaps you can confirm location , Andread.

The hotel is Hotel Artemis , John M. Keynes Plein 2, 1066 EP Amsterdam. We will be arriving by train, so what would you consider the best way to get to the hotel?

Is the tram stop close to the hotel?

There's at least a couple of ways to get to the hotel by public transportation depending on your requirements.

The #2 tram stop at Aletta Jacobslaan is about 750 meters from the hotel but it's direct from CS.

If you have too much luggage to make that walk take the #17 tram from Centraal Station to where it turns South from Marnixstraat onto Kinkerstraat- ask the conductor or driver for the closest stop to the Connexxion bus station on Marnixstraat. Walk East or Southeast- the same direction the tram was running when you got off on Marnixstraat. From there it's only about a block to the bus station- although it's just a paved area where lots of busses stop. Catch a 145 Leiden bus, it will drop you off within a block of your hotel- ask the driver for the closeset stop, it's the first stop on Sloterweg. The 145 will be your best bet as the Connexxion station is easy walking distance to Leidseplein and the Museum quarter and of course the 17 tram will take you to CS.
