Cheapest Way to Travel from Amsterdam to Berlin

I'm backpacking through Europe this upcoming summer and I'm having a bit of difficulty finding a reasonably priced way to get from Amsterdam to Berlin. Any suggestions?

Hi there,

Try www.eurolines.com for the buses; and www.bahn.de for trains, they're often cheaper than NS on this route. Should be possible with train for < 50 euro one-way if booked long enough (3 months) in advance.

All the best,

Easyjet have 2 flights a day. The train is about your best option though.

Thanks a lot! The "Bahn" website had great fares since I'm booking them practically three months in advance, big help to my wallet!

Check out Busbud.com, there is a bus for 50$, every other day or so! This is definitely the cheapest way!

The cheapest way is hitchhiking. www.hitchhiking.org

You didn't ask about the safest way ;-)

As for bus versus train, I'd rather pay €10 extra and have the luxury to stretch my legs and go to a restaurant wagon and such. Train tickets should be available from €39.

you can fly on Easyjet for €33 and they fly twice a day. Best Bus only go twice a week, for about the same price. And they take about 10 hours to do the journey. Easyjet take about 3 hours in total. So are they really the best way to go Antonio?

I am making the trip in a couple of weeks and got a return with KLM for €99 inc 58 kgs luggage, that beats Easyjet Ron :-)

The other option would be car sharing, you might get it a little cheaper but I would stick with the train . It goes centre to centre ,has no luggage restrictions and is more reliable than the road options
