I will be staying in Zurich for a few days on business and then driving on a Sunday to Ettlingen Germany (south of Frankfurt)to finish the rest of my business trip. This being my first visit to this area of Europe I'm asking for any suggestions on what to see/do/eat/buy while in these areas. I will have most evenings free and one Saturday free.

I'm also looking for a good route to take from Zurich to Ettlingen. I've used mapping sites like mapquest.com and most direct me by highway. I would much rather take smaller roads and see some sights - even if they are a little bit out of my way.
