Hotel near airport |
|
I need a hotel for 1 night near the airport for an early morning flight- any suggestions- also need transport from hotel- to airport- thanks |
|
Try the Park Inn Zurich Airport. They will also have a shuttle to/from the airport. This hotel used to be run by McDonalds, so it has some special features. See the reviews in the hotel section. Keep in mind that the airport is only an 11 minute train ride from the city main station, so you might consider staying in the city centre instead.

We just did an overnight in Zurich for the same reason. I used priceline for a 4 star airport hotel and got the Renaissance for 75 dollars, which was 83 with taxes. Amazing. We got off the train at the airport and took the free shuttle to hotel then used it the next morning. Right on time. It was a beautiful hotel! AND they upgraded us to a luxury suite! They have a fabulous Asian restaurant in the hotel as well as a Bistro with Swiss type fare and other options. A bit pricey, but very good. We were glad we didn't stay in town, because it was the night that Switzerland advanced in the World Cup and the whole city was out in the streets until day break, evidently. We heard other people saying that they got NO sleep, LOL! We never heard any planes flying overhead in our room. It was quiet, luxurious and air conditioned!

An alternative could be the WelcomeInn Hotel in Kloten, the village where the airport is located. Free shuttle to/from the airport. Other options: Mövenpick hotel or Hilton Hotel. Both have shuttle buses to/from airport. Enjoy your stay in Switzerland! Linnen

Hello, my husband and I will be staying in Zurich for one night, right before our departure to go home. I guess I’m looking for something simple and clean. Conveniently located: Close enough to see Zurich for one day AND close and simple enough to get to the airport early next morning. Around $80-100. Based on LLindaC's suggestion: Renaissance for 75 dollars. When i looked it up it came out to 235.00 (CHF) per night; the cheapest one was WelcomeInn Hotel in Kloten based on Linnen recommendation and even that one was 141.00 (CHF) per night
LLindaC is there anyway you can email me a link for that hotel. I used http://marriott.com/renaissancehotels and it comes out to 200 + Any ideas? Thanks!

Yes, that IS the price for the hotels, but if you do Priceline for a 4 star airport hotel you will have a chance of getting the same deal that I did. Of course, they may put you in another hotel, but I figured if it was 4 star, any one of them would be fine. But basically, no Priceline, no great deals!!

Hotel Mövenpick (newly renovated BIG rooms) 3 minutes by shuttle from the airport. Rooms going from CHF. 160.--

Just looked on priceline...what do you guys think? Novotel Zurich Airport Messe Talackerstrasse 21 Zurich-Glattbrugg, 8152 $85 per night

sorry, I didn't make myself clear. I BID on the room, made an offer, not booked one at their price. It's worth a shot, all they can say is no! LOL!

LLindaC, thank you very much for your suggestions re: PriceLine.com “offer your own price”. I just did the same thing and got the same hotel “Renaissance”. Wow a four star hotel for $70! Just a quick question: We’ll be arriving to Zurich from Spiez. What is the best train station we should arrive to and also how do we arrange for a shuttle? Again, can thank you enough for all your wonderful advices. I can’t wait for our trip. I just hope that the weather cooperates! Thank you!

YIPPEE! Don't you just LOVE a great deal!! I'm a bit confused by your question, though. I took the train to the airport ( Flughafen) then took the Renaissance's free shuttle to the hotel. Check the departure times...all the shuttles pick up outside in one area and leave every hour, but not necessarily ON the hour. I can't remember what time their shuttle left, but I think it was on the :45...10:45, etc. You can write to them and find out. Then, the next morning, we took the free shuttle fro m the hotel to the airport. Very efficient, but give yourself at LEAST 2 hours, preferably 3 to get to gate. We had a very long security line and a slow check-in process. We planned on having breakfast at the airport, but it didn't happen. I can't imagine it would be faster now. To check the connections from Spiez, go to www.sbb.ch and enter Spiez in one column then Zurich Flughafen in the other on your travel day. Lots of trains stop in Zurich first, then at the airport, but you may have to transfer at the first station. No problem, though, they go to the airport quite frequently. Does that answer your question?
