Thun/Spiez and Brienze/Glessbach Villages all on same day?

Planning on spending 2 full days in the Interlaken area and would like to dedicate 1 full day to visit the lake villages of Thun/Spiez and Brienze/Glessbach, and the other visiting the mountain villages. Will probably be staying in Interlaken. Can someone advise me as to if this is possible without being too rushed and the best way to map out this itinerary factoring in the ability to take the boat cruises and trains and make the best use of time and the least cost? Was thinking of cruising to Brienz only and doing the rest via train, but would welcome any suggestions.

You could do it in one day if you start early. Catch the early Lake Brienz boat and hop off at Geissbach. The only thing there is the hotel and an observation spot. Take a look and get back on the next boat to Brienz. If you are not going to see the museum at Ballenberg or go up the Rothhorn a visit to Brienz shouldn't take you past lunch time. You can catch a train back to Interlaken and change for the trip to Thun and Spiez.
