One day in Siena and San Gimignano/ lunch places

Has somebody take one of those one-day tours to visit Siena-San Gimi-Montegigiorani? How good/bad was your experience? Is it in a bus or van? Also I would like to get some recommendations including where to lunch in Siena, which be good and not so-touristical. Thanks

I'd also be interested in any answers to this question. Two of us may make a day trip to Sienna from Florence, but not sure if it'd be worth it.
