hello! I am a tour leader bringing forty 15-18 years olds to Florence for a month. Is it worth bringing them to San Gimignano? We would have our own bus... Any advice would be much appreciated!

Yes, well worth a day trip to San Gimignano. The Tuscan countryside is lovely and this little town is unique with it's many towers giving it the appearance of skyscrapers from the distance. It's popular though with tourists so it may be crowded depending on when you go. There are several parking areas with one or two reserved for buses on the route south of town.

Sa Gimignano is a small walled town very popular with tourists I doubt if it is large enough to keep a group of 15/18 year olds amused for a whole day but it would make a good combination with perhaps Volterra or the smaller Colle di val d'Elsa which has a pleasant medieval centre.

Volterra is a fortified hill town with a good Museum of Etruscan Archaeology (Museo Etrusco Guarnacci). The town specialises in alabaster items
