The festival will end this week. Does anyone know if there are some Puccini events in September?
Thank you guys
Wow. I can't believe we may be able to see a Puccini concert while in Lucca.
Does anyone have any info on these concerts. While we are in Lucca in April there is "Puccini and the Neopolitan Song" and "Puccini and Mozart". How do we choose one of these performances? Has anyone been to one of these concerts. Thank you so much.
We went to the Puccini and Mozart concert a few years ago. It was very informal and the music, in our opinion, very good.
If at all possible, choose both! These concerts are low-priced, high-quality with incredible performers. Generally there are two performers on any given night, plus a piano accompanist who is better than a 7-piece orchestra. The performances last only about an hour and a half, including a 15 min. intermission. The venue, a de-consecrated basilica is drop-dead amazing. If you attend two nights' running, you are given a discount on the second night's performance (save your ticket from the first night....you must present it on the second night.). You'll remember these concerts and the wonderful young performers who present them,.....forever.
See reply No 6, it was about 1.5 hours including the interval when we went.
Thanks! One day I might learn to read the entire thread before responding.
