The Trenitalia web site says there is no luggage storage at the train station. However, I think that the tourist office in the main square will store luggage.

We are travelling from Florence to Cinque Terre in May and plan to stop off in Lucca for a few hours as this is all the time we have. Does anyone know if the luggage storage option is still available at the tourist information office in Piazzale Verdi? And if so the best way to get to it from the train station.

I have heard no reports that the tourist office has stopped storing luggage. I believe it is quite pricey though. You can easily walk from the train station to Piazzale Verdi in 5-10 mins

Haven't tried this, but the other day we noticed left luggage sign at the bike hire place just outside the station, on left hand side of park outside station, about 30 metres from Lucca station.

Can't verify exactly, but I saw the sign myself on Friday as well.
