I intend hiring a car in Florence end March and someone suggested I use www.holidayautos.com comparison website. Has anyone used this and what experiences did you have. Is it reliable and reasonable?
I would advise you not to go with the cheapest deal you find as several of the smaller providers have very bad reputations and make their money back in other ways. Better to go with one of the big companies such as hertz, avis and europcar. www.auto-europe.co.uk is a good broker who get decent deals with these companies.Edited: 11:10 am, January 27, 2014
We recently used RentalCars.com - www.rentalcars.com/Home.do…
which is also a broker for the largest companies, including Hertz, Avis, Europcar, and we've also used Auto Europe in the past. Both worked fine, only after booking do you know which one you're renting through but as it is with the major ones, not a problem. Our experience was excellent, no major hurdles, just the usual with the desk person trying to add on all types of insurance and extra services at pick-up but I firmly said no, thanks, we're fine with what we chose online. So I agree, check with the brokers, see rates, check major carriers and then choose among those.
