Palermo airport by 9am... where best to stay please?

We need to be at Palermo airport at 9am on a Tuesday morning. Would anyone recommend a suitable hotel for the night and how would we get to the airport by 9am?

Will be travelling back by train to Palermo from Cefalu on the Monday for our flight from Palermo on Tuesday morning. Will probably need to get a shuttle bus to the airport on the Tuesday morning, I gather they can be picked up from the train station, so a hotel near the station would probably be the best bet.

Thanks for your response.

Welcome to Sicily Lucy W!

It’s very easy - The Prestia e Comandè bus begins it’s runs from Palermo to the airport at 4.00.

Click on “Palermo - Aereoporto Falcone Borsellino”:

Hotel Ambasciatori is located in Palermo’s historic centre and it’s convenient to the train station, the airport bus stop, the historical sites, and it’s reasonably priced.

The Politeama square area is lively, well situated for public transport (including the airport bus, but also the bus to the train station), restaurants, and nightlife, and it’s attractive with squares, wider streets, and shopping.

Consider Hotel Garibaldi, Hotel Plaza Opéra, Hotel Wagner, Mercure Palermo Centro, Maxim B&B, or Palazzo Pantaleo in this area.

Best wishes!

Hi Vagabonda, Thank you for your reply. I was looking at the buses on the prestiacomande link yesterday, from a previous post from you. All very helpful. Do you know if we have to book the bus first, or can we just turn up?

Thank you for the hotel suggestions also.

All very helpful.

Best wishes

I too am going to Cefalu (in december though) and have to be quite early at the airport - i've chose to stay at Hotel Orientale in Palermo for the last night, which is litterually around the corner from the trainstation, and further more is it very cheap and looks absolutely adorable ♥

Buon viaggio Lucy :)

Yes, the Hotel Orientale is a 5-minute walk to Palermo Centrale, so very convenient for the airport bus which begins its runs at 4.00!
