There is no train from the airport to Taormina. You

would have to take a bus from the airport to Catania, and then take the train from Catania to Taormina. The train is as convenient, since the Taormina-Giardini-Naxos station is about 5 km away, and it's down below the town. From Taormina's train station, you would have to bus up to Taormina.
