Myself and friend will be traveling to alghero end of march, I realise that it maybe end of season when we travel but was wondering if you can recommend any good hotels and what we can do there, we will be there for 4 days.

having been in Alghero 4 times,staying at 2 different hotels and 2 private apartments B&B.
First time at Hotel Florida. Great location with the beach just opposite the busy lido road, and 10-15 min. walk to the old town. However, some of the staff being quite awful and "mussolini" dominating in the breakfast room. Could hope this has changed.
But check out Alghero City Hotel (former hotel Barcelona). Has be updated from 2 to a 4 star hotel and Euro 49 in march for a room with breakfast, (www.Booking.com) seems a good choice. A short walk from the marina and 5 min. walk to old town.
There are numerous kinds of excursions; but try out this; Take the train from alghero (northern part of the city) to Sassari. Great town for shopping and plenty of historical sights and monuments.
