We will spend a few nights in Venice then want to get a car for travels in Croatia and Slovenia and back to Italy. Some have suggested we should take a train to Trieste because of the traffic issues from Venice to Croatia, but it would be nice to just get the car at the end of our Venice visit. OR perhaps we should take public transport to Croatia and get a car there. Problem is we want to keep the car and go to Slovenia and back into Italy where we would like to explore on our way back to fly out of Milan. It seems expensive though to rent the car in Italy. Should we rent three separate cars??? Trying to save as much money and headache as possible.
