Hotel in Venice

I plan to book this Hotel Villa Pannonia in Venice. Address is

Via D. D. Michiel, 48, Venice, Venezia, 30126

Info it gives is

Distance: less than 6km

Hotel Villa Pannonia is 450 meters from the boat station, so in a few minutes it is possible to reach St. Mark*s Square and enjoy the atmosphere of the most fascinating spots of Venice. Moreover the little and colorful garden is perfect to sit for a drink immersed in a totally relaxing atmosphere. A little bar is reserved for guests with a few tables and some books. Set in a peaceful area near the Casino, close to the most beautiful beach in Venezia Lido, Hotel Villa Pannonia is located in a magnificent position.

Is this a Hotel within Venice. Are all the attractions within the reach. Is Train Station or Bus Stations close by. Please advice whether to book the hotel

Thanks in advance

I don't know this hotel. However I DO know the Pensione Accademia, and I recommend them 100%. It is located on a canal (not the Grand Canal) in the Accademia area and all sites are accessible either by foot or by vaporetto. The hotel even has a garden and serves a big breakfast. The train station and bus station will drop you at the point where you can buy a ticket for the vaporetto. Ride the vap. until you get to the Accademia stop. The hotel is just a short walk from there. When you purchase your vap. ticket from the counter be sure to COUNT YOUR CHANGE!

This *sounds* like it is not within what one might consider Venice proper i.e., you will be reliant on boat schedules and not within walking distance of the main attractions in Venice. If you prefer to be within the city, I agree with the previous post, Pensione Accademmia is lovely as well as Hotel American in Dorsoduro. Both are also reasonably priced by relative to other places in Venice and are a lovely stroll to the rest of the city.

Hotel Villa Pannonia is in Venice Lido, an island close to Venice, but not within Venice.

To reach the most famous tourist attractions you need to take a water bus (+ 450 meters walk). The journey from Lido to San Marco with the water bus takes about 15 minutes.

Thanks a lot for the replies. I found a hotel in the venice. Here are the details. Please advice how is this. I am getting it for 80 euro per night.

Site mentions:

*************

Hotel Guerrini is located in the city centre, in a peaceful place, next to the Grand Canal (Canal Grande), two hundreds metres far from the Railway Station (S.Lucia) and at only ten minutes by walking from the autopark and bus terminal of P.le Roma and from Tronchetto (car parkings).

In the neighbourhood there are the water-bus stops (vaporetti) of the main communication lines to reach easily Rialto, San Marco, Murano, Burano and the other islands of the Venice Lagoon.

Hotel Guerrini is also situated on the ideal touristical walk to visit Venice.

In front of the hotel there is a square called San Geremia, where San Geremias church, Santa Lucias sanctuary and Palazzo Labia, seat of RAI-Television are set.

From this place you can easily reach in a few minutes Ponte delle Guglie, Rio Ter San Leornardo with its picturesque open-air market, the Jewish Ghetto and Ca Vendramini Calergi, main seat of the Venice Casin.

The second hotel you mentioned says it's near the train station, therefore you will be far from the main sites and will have to take the vaporettos, which from that point to San Marks will take more than half hour. You can walk, but it will be a long one (including getting lost). I would take the advise of the previous post and stay in the Accademia area, and further up than the Rialto Bridge. Go into the Venere.com site they lists their hotels by areas with maps included. Good Luck

Hello,

The recommendations sound good. Does anyone have a direct connection via website or email? I am also interested in Ca' Angeli and would like help with a website or email address. Thanks.
