Christmas Day in Venice

Our family will spend 24-27 December in Venice. Are any sites of interest (e.g., churches) open for tourists to visit on Christmas Day? I am not worried about restaurants because we will be staying at the Londra Palace, which has the excellent Do Leoni, but am concerned that there will be nothing to do other than walk about (which is no small pleasure, of course). As an alternative we could rent an auto and drive up to Cortina d'Ampezzo for mountain views on Christmas. Thanks for any advice.
