Heading to Italy to celebrate my 40th b'day and will be staying here 23 Nov for 2 nights. Has anyone stayed here recently...read reviews but thought might find some here that didn't post a review. Doge's Palace -- secret tour or regular tour? Seems like booking in advance from the states is a challenge so I'll get the hotel to book if I can just figure out which tour. Does anyone have a good walking tour guide in Venice. I'd love to find someone to take my friend and I around and really see the locals Venice...we can hit the tourist spots. Many thanks! Have not stayed there but it looks like a beautiful hotel. I have eaten there and it was very good. Reserve the secret itineraries tour. Well worth it. A friend of mine is a certified tour guide in Venice. She usually does larger groups and the "rich and famous" but it might be a bit slower this time of year. I'll email you her email address.
