Effective with the summer schedules TODAY, Trenitalia has restored Eurostar Italia daily direct service between Bolzano/Trento/Rovereto and Rome, connecting the capital of the Sud Tyrol/Alto Adige Province with Rome in less than five hours. Schedules are designed for business people who need to get to Rome in the morning, and return home in the late afternoon. The train departs Bolzano at 6:32 a.m. and arrives at Roma Termini at 11:20 a.m. The one-way "base" fare in second class is a whopping 76 Euros, but promotional discounts are available with an advance purchase. There is also a day return fare for 99 Euros round-trip. The return train departs Roma Termini at 16:25, arriving in Bolzano at 21:12.
A '"Frecciargento" is used on this route, with two first class and five second class railcars accommodating 100 first class and 330 second class passengers. One of the second class railcars has a bistro/bar with beverage and light meal service available for purchase.
It's good to see that Trenitalia has once again connected Rome to the Trentino/Alto adige region.
