Option for getting to Turin

We live in a small(er) town on the east coast and driving to/from a major airport - Charlotte (2 1/2 hr) or Atlanta (4hrs) is not the greatest when you are jetlagged. We are looking into going to Turin but to get there it involves a several connections and many, many hrs. Does anyone have any suggestions of other airports that might provide us with another option - getting a train or driving .

Weaverville (nice town, I have some friends there), I saw your post on Fodors too.

Milan Malpensa is probably your best shot , many direct or almost direct flights from USA. Its about 90 minutes drive to Turin by car, by train you need to take a bus from airport to Milan Centrale train station and train to Porto Nuova in Turin.

Other nearby airports in driving and/or train range are Milan Linate and Genoa, but you will probably have the same difficulty with connections.

there are also bus options: Malpensa airport <-> Turin

look at:

sadem.it/Orari_tariffe/…andata

or, but not a well known solution, bus Malpensa airport <-> Novara, then take a train Novara-Turin,
