Hello my TA friends.
Trying to decide if Turin is a good choice for a 3 day trip for 2 female tourists in October. We speak English and bit of French & German. My best friend has moved from Canada to Europe and has travelled in Italy - but never to Turin. I'm coming to Europe for a visit and we want to go to Italy in October to see some tourist sights in fall in Italy. We'd like some shopping (but not super-expensive designer shops). We'd like some nice meals and maybe some spa time.We want a nice hotel in a safe area - where we can relax & catch up. We don't want to have to chain our purses around our necks & keep a watch out for pickpockets.
I am looking at the Principi di Piedmonte hotel. It looks like this hotel is close to the train station in Porta Nuova. When I research TA posts re: safe areas to stay & wander around -several posts say that this is an area to avoid. But many reviews say this hotel is a great choice & in an excellent location - so I am confused.
Can anyone help with suggestions?
Thanks so much (as always).
