Hi --

It's really hard to help someone who hasn't yet gotten the old wish list together. So -- get a good guidebook so you can narrow down your choices a little bit - you might try www.ricksteves.com and order his Europe Through the Back Door, and Europe 101. The first has info on how to make your trip what you want it to be, and the latter has a good overview of European history and art so that you understand the significance of whatever it is you decide to see. The books can be obtained from a local bookshop, but this time of year the pickins are pretty slim and few stores restock before spring.

Once you have narrowed down your choices for locations and dates, the forum members can really shine. You'll be able to ask some specific questions and they'll be able to give you all the information you could ever want to know.

Good luck.
